Did i ever mention i hate those square brackets? Also, thanks to Tegamin for the help.

And this song… ahh, the usual “good and evil“-thing. personally i think it’s about two people personificating those two aspects (and strangely, “evil” doesn’t seem too evil here).

*「二人は似て 非なるものだ」: this is actually a quote (thus the brackets!). 非なるものだ literally means “turning evil”, however “evil” sounds as if somebody else called them that
*人 は一人を善とし, 一人を悪 とした: not sure about this. In my interpretation, one of the two represents “good” the other one “evil” (does that make sense to you?)
*心を奪い: also “enchant”, “enrapture”, “entrance” etc.
: literally “is that beautiful?”
: lit. “who are you?”, what  i think is meant is rather “who will you be then?”

nemure, nemure, kono subarashii sekai ni wo wakare shite
nemure, nemure, kono akumu no you na hibi ni sayonara

now sleep, sleep, and bid farewell to this magnificent world
now sleep, sleep, and say goodbye to this nightmare-like days

ko ka fukou ka unmei no futago
futari wa nite hi naru mono da
kubetsu no tsukanai futari dakara
hito wa hitori wo zen to shi, hitori wo aku to shita

is it fortune or misfortune for us fateful two
we are alike, you and me, corrupting
therefore we are indistinguishable
one of them alone does good, one alone did evil

sore wa futari no unmei wo wakachi, sekai ni higeki wo unda
rikai dekinai mono wa mina, tazei de aku to dan’atsu shita

that devides our shared destiny, giving birth to tragedy in this world
all the things one cannot understand were countless evil and oppression

dareka no doi wo eru tame, bitoku ni sugari
i ni sowanu mono no kokoro wo ubai
onaji iro ni somaru koto wo yogi naku sareru
sore wa utsukushii ka?

to obtain someone’s consent, just hold onto virtue
what doesn‘t cross one’s mind will captivate the heart
and it will inevitably be stained with the same colour
wouldn’t that be beautiful?

ningenrashisa to wa nanda? shinnen wo motsu koto
shinnen to wa nanda? jibun wo shinjiru koto

what is that, ‘humanity‘?  “believing in something“
what is that, ‘believing‘?   “having faith in yourself“

in a world where you can remain the way you are, there’s neither virtue nor vice
there is only your past, your present life and your future, that is all
that’s why, live in freedom and prove your existence; who will you be then?

hoka no dareka no tame ja naku , hoka demo nai kimi no tame ni
kimi ga ima made ikite kita no wa, kimi ga shiawase ni naru tame darou

this is not for anybody else’s sake, it is for no one other than yourself
the fact that you have lived until now means that it’s all for your happiness

dareka no doi wo eru tame bitoku ni sugari
i ni sowanu mono no kokoro wo ubai
onaji iro ni somaru koto wo yogi naku sareru
sore wa dare no tame da?

to obtain someone’s consent, just hold onto virtue
what doesn‘t cross one’s mind will captivate the heart
it will inevitably be stained with the same colour
for whose sake is all that?

nemure, nemure, kono subarashii sekai ni wo wakare shite
nemure, nemure, kono akumu wa mata ashita to azawarau

so sleep, sleep, and bid farewell to this magnificent world
so sleep, sleep, and sneer “see you tomorrow“ at this nightmare
